A foggy post-Thanksgiving morning here in New England. A bit rainy and warm, well warm for November. I'm still hoping the gargantuan snow blower we bought this Fall will invoke Murphy's Law and keep the snow away. So far so good.
Yesterday's holiday went very well. We had eleven people gathered around the dinner table and there were no disasters to speak of. Well, I did completely forget to cook the pearl onions. They'll make a tasty addition to leftover turkey today. We had a giant fire going in the fireplace all day and everybody was more than helpful when needed. The desert spread was absolutely ridiculous. Apple pie, squash pie, blueberry pie, giant tray of cookies, pecan pie, chocolate trifle, pudding pie and carrot cake. Ugh! And we've got about a million unopened bottles of wine left over. But all said and done I had an amazingly great time with Jeff's family and to be honest, that's not always easy!
Next stop ~ Christmas. I guess I better start my shopping!
