I am going to begin a little series on the side here. I have a couple painting requests. Requests I mean to fullfill. My plan is to document the creation of one of my skeletal Day of the Dead type works. I love painting these creatures. They make me happy and their likeness is scattered among the homes of my friends. [ed note: if you don't have one, and you are a friend (you know who you are) and more importantly WANT one, please let me know. I am not in the habit of foisting work upon people. All it takes is to find one painting stuffed in the back of a closet forgotten to never give another away again....er...but I digress.]

Anyway, look for a link under my satellites that will house all updates regarding the paint project. Here we begin at the beginning. A small sketch that was supposed to just be filler so I might create the figure around it. It held a life of it's own and had to be finished before the hands could be drawn around it. The actual drawing is 2" by 2" and as you can see, I was using a soft lead pencil.



Someday....someday I will have my marine tank.
