In an attempt to encourage daily posting I have changed Song of the Week to Song of the Day. You kids have fun with the new acronym now. SOTD. I like Sordid Ovations To Diana myself. Har har har. Anyway, today I went with a particularly favorite band of mine, Squirrel Nut Zippers. The lyrics on this one I especially love:
I was talking to an oak tree
When the cypress butted in.
Out of car parts, a raven
Made a nest inside my skin.
(chorus)
I can scream like the cicada
Gin the seed right out of the bowl
Ride the train to Memphis
When there's cotton to be sold.
I love it, love it, love it. Go buy all their stuff now. No really, I insist.
For those keeping tabs on the painfully slow paint project, a photo of the canvas with background can now be viewed. Not sure if I'm going to go with this one, we'll see. And lastly, I've gone with Scott's suggestion to track the snowfall through photos. No snow yet so hear are the pre-snow pictures. Click for larger view...and is it just me, or does the fairy look like Tori Amos?
