I apologize for having nothing new or interesting to post here lately. Frankly I am amazed (though secretly happy) people still visit. What can I say? I am dreadfully boring these days. So in no particular order, here's what's up with me.
Let's see, right now the left side of my face is numb from having a bit of dental work done. I'm using that as an excuse not to go to the Y tonight.
I did a bunch of cantering at my lesson today. It was an exciting one too. Our instructor's horse went down with her on it. Thankfully no one was hurt. His (the horse) feet slipped out from under him as he was going round the ring. Guess it's a bit slippery under the dry surface.
Monday I ran the three mile loop of my neighborhood. I'm so lucky to have my very own Heartbreak Hill. In my little world it's called Hickory Hill but let's just call it what it is.....a bitch.
Spent Tuesday gardening. Weeding, planting, turning soil, you name it. Spring is the one time of year when I have a real addiction to Home Depot. The nursery in particular of course. My herb garden is planted and I've put down some new perennials and have big plans for what I like to call The Great Fern Experiment. It's top secret so I can't actually tell you about it. It's great though, and involves ferns.
My friend Sara (and her husband) have requested three times now that I come to their house to eliminate a few troublesome varmints. I shall of course oblige them. She's got the usual chipmunks but also a small squirrel that nested in the framework of their hot tub. Apparently he chewed quite a few wires during his stay and screwed up a couple of the jets. I figure shooting him is the least I can do since Sara and I have been having a nice Lunch N' Soak once a month. I'm especially keen on doing it since I am convinced I've killed all my own rodents. I've heard not a peep from them. I've seen neither hide nor hair. I'm fairly certain they are no more! I need to get in some target practice before I go over. I've not fired off a shot since last August and don't want to embarrass myself.
I've also recently discovered that Morrissey must be the most entertaining lyricist out there. I bought You Are the Quarry last year but have just really begun listening to it. It's a laugh a minute I tell you.
From I Have Forgiven Jesus:
"Monday - humiliation
Tuesday - suffocation
Wednesday - condescension
Thursday - is pathetic
By Friday life has killed me"
Brilliant!
