Friday ~ October er...what is today anyway?...right the 10th
Ok, after my recent discovery of the blog community and reading various blogs from around the globe (and enjoying them immensely I might add) I've decided to add my little voice to the choir.
At work and it's 3PM. Phil, my Project Manager & boss (and a right nice guy) tells me in honor of Monday's holiday we can leave for the weekend anytime we like. Great! But since I take the commuter rail/car in with Jeff (husband for those new to me and mine) it leaves me with a bit of time on my hands. Next train isn't for an hour. Sure I could pop out to Lucky's or Three Cheers for a frosty pint of Harpoon IPA but the last time I tried to get folks to cut out early with me for a pre-weekend drink I got a bunch of "sorry, have work to do" and all that.
So here I am with my first blog and it's a bit of a bore so far. Might edit and start new Monday or whenever. But for now I'll carry on with a brief history of me, Diana.
Born: Boston, MA
Lives : Framingham, MA
Status: Married to Jeff
Job: yes - web developer
Kids: hell no
Pets: yes - nine geckos and one extremely demanding cat
Other quick tid bits about me are:
I have an absurd amount of house plants.
I hate chipmunks (more on this later).
I carry my entire cd collection with me nearly everywhere I go (20 GB Zen mp3 player ~ god I love technology).
I have an unexplainable fear and loathing of blimps.
I enjoy painting and drawing and other creative stuff but don't do it nearly as much as I should.
I love outdoor gardening although I'm not very good at it (yet).
I'm a bit of a forum junkie at the moment.
I use parens way too much.
I love to cook but hate to bake.
Alright I'm sure that's enough of that. Quick summary of my weekend plans:
Tonight = um, probably nothing. May cook dinner. Depends on if Jeff is feeling fat. He's absolutely not fat but keeps a sharp eye on the scale and all that. We went out with some friends in from L.A. last night ~ much eating and drinking at the brewhouse. So I'm sure he'll not want to eat out again. He did mention something about buckets of chicken and ice-cream. Pretty sure he was just joshing me.
Saturday = England/Turkey party at Paul's. Paul is English so this is all about footie. Should be fun. Jeff's baking cookies and I'm buying beer. Was thinking of trying to find out color of Turkey and wearing lots of it just to rile up all the Brits. Har har har.
Sunday = Visiting with Sara. Sara just had a little baby boy and I've got to go meet the fellow. Being 32 and childless (by choice mind you) I take it hard when one of my married female chums goes down that particular road. Sara is number 2 to do this. Ann-Marie did it about a year ago. I made a complete ass out of myself in both instances when they told me the baby on the way news. Thank god they're super girls and know me for the Oops did I just say that? fool I can be sometimes.
Well, that's it for now. I've just about used up the hour til the next train out of the city. Time for my long weekend. Cheers!
