Ugh. It's a bit late. Well, past ten for my aging sensibilities. Either way I should probably just go to bed instead of posting but here I am. Jeff and I went to Sara & Murph's to meet their new baby, Nicholas. Cute little thing. Such a peanut! Ann-Marie was there with Amelia. Sweet girl not quite one yet and what a laugh. They were all joking about how it was all a trick to lull those of us without children into breeding. Look! Cute baby not crying. Look! cute little walker not crying. Ah ~ but we know the truth of it and we're not going to be fooled! I like sleeping late and pretty much doing whatever I please whenever I please! Um, lemme rephrase that. I LOVE it!
Besides, I know the woman gets the short and stinking end of that particular stick. No thanks. Was a good visit anyway. Love all those guys and it's always a pleasure to see them.
After the visit Jeff suggested a movie. Seeing as it was a rainy Fall day...why not? So off we went to see Kill Bill. For a Tarantino film I actually liked it. Really quite good. Absurd amounts of violence as usual but consider the source. It did make me want to scrap being a vampire for Halloween. Why do that when I could be a female samurai hitman!? Or better yet, a super cool, kimono wearing, boss mama samurai hitman? Jeff brought home the obvious point. Party + house full of people + people drinking alcohol + katana = a REALLY bad idea. I agreed. I'll stick with the vampire. I mean how much damage can I do with fake plastic fangs??

Well, I think I'm done for now. Tomorrow is Columbus Day and Jeff's birthday. We both have the day off and I've got to find an Italian rum cake and a birthday card without being obvious about it. (he was supposed to be working but took the day off) I think we may be hiking in Blue Hills as it's supposed to be gorgeous out. I think the only real thing I got accomplished this weekend was mailing out the Halloween invites. Shrugged the rest of my usual chores...ie, the house is a mess. Well, as long as I can get the plants watered and the cat box cleaned I'll call it even.

g'night!
