I think I mentioned before I've been getting back into my YMCA habit. Now that my ankle is all better I've been trying to get my ass to as many classes as I can stand. The problem is, classes taught by my favorite instructor (Jane), and my second favorite instructor (Maria), are outnumbered by classes taught by my least favorite instructor who, in order to protect the clueless, I shall call, oh I dunno.....Julie. It's not even so much that she's my least favorite...that would suggest she's on my favorite list at all which she is not. Thing is, she's a perfectly nice and friendly person... who also happens to be a terrible aerobics & step instructor. Her cuing is horrible, she screws up constantly and to top it all off she picks the most dreadful music imaginable. For these very reasons I've not been in one of her classes since early July. After one particularly bad low impact class, during which I had to suffer through the music of Joseph's (Fucking) Technicolor Dreamcoat, I swore off attending any more she lead. "Fuck it!" I said, "I'll rework my schedule and make up the classes at other times during the week." Then, as fate would have it, I sprained my ankle and had to give up my classes entirely for many months.
But now my ankle is fine, I need to get back into shape...and the Y beckons. Thursday I found myself in a bind. Attend Julie's class or attend no class at all for the day. My goal was at least five classes this week so I had to get in something on Thursday. I figured after all this time perhaps Julie's class had improved. It was reasonable, I thought, to expect she'd gotten better after six months. Silly, silly Diana.
It was worse. Monumentally worse. Her cuing is as bad as ever and her choreography has taken a nosedive. If I wanted to spend forty minutes doing nothing but fucking side lunges and knees I could have stayed home...at least then I'd not have had to listen to the fucking Beach Boys while I was doing it. Arg!!!! Terrible terrible class. So I've had to finagle a new schedule but that's ok, I needed to anyway so I could incorporate my new riding lessons (wednesday 11AM). Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And for all you die hard kitty fans...some new pictures.
